Semiconductor chips are in everything. Currently, most of them are not made in the U.S. We are trying to change that. Based at SMU, the Texoma Semiconductor Innovation Consortium (TSIC) received in October 2023 the Regional Tech Hub designation under a U.S. Economic Development Administration program created by the 2022 CHIPS Act legislation. My talk will focus on how our Tech Hub will unify the efforts of almost every college and university in the Metroplex on high-tech electronics manufacturing training, certifications, and degrees.
